Paulsen
Erich Paulsen was born in 1932 in the small town of Treuenbrietzen just outside Berlin and spent his early childhood in the region called "Mark Brandenburg." His family moved West after the war, in search for safety- so it was Hamburg, where the a spiring young artist attended the Master-Class for painting (Meisterschule der Malerei) from which he graduated with honors.
With growing success he could afford studying-trips throughout Europe, Italy, France, and Spain to name just a few. The themes of his paintings are mostly landscapes. The raw beauty of the River landscapes along Weser and Elbe River has always fascinated him and Portscenes are amongst his favorite subjects.
All this-together with his very personal feeling for colors and the bold palette knife techniques so typical for him, have made Paulsen's paintings cherished Collectors-pieces in many countries.
